Rwanda's Ag Exports (coffee, tea, vegetable and flower) brought in Foreign Exchange Earnings of over Rwf 19 billion Monday - Feb 6th 2026
Rwanda earned over $13 million in foreign currency (about 19 billion Rwf) from agricultural and livestock exports in just 5 days from 02 February to 06 February 2026.
NAEB (National Agricultural Export Development Board) has released a report showing agricultural exports continue to provide a large share of the country's total foreign exchange. Coffee and tea are still the leading commodities exported from Rwanda.
Top Exports: Coffee and Tea
Coffee remains the 1 Export during this time frame with over 650 tons of Coffee being exported, generating $3.9 million in revenue. Tea has also been exporting well during this time, with over 958 tons leaving the country – providing $2.8 million dollars’ worth of revenue for the National Economy.
Vegetables, Fruits, and Flowers Engage European Market
In addition to traditional cash crops, Rwanda will continue to expand into the European and Middle Eastern Markets for additional opportunities. Vegetables: 363 tons were exported, earning $390,539. Key markets included the UK, Netherlands, UAE, Germany, and France. Flowers: The UK and Netherlands markets received over 59 tons, valued at $614,925,Fruits: 267 tons were exported to the UAE, UK, and Spain, generating $311,860.
The contribution of livestock products, at 364 units meaning a value of US$676,440 dollars, is mainly from African region and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), along with products from other diverse agricultural items through regional and across borders, totalled 6,732 units, which produced a gross sales value of $4.2 million.
NAEB data has shown that the agriculture and livestock are still core supports in an attempt to increase export sales of products and balance the country's international trade.
