Kamanzi Jean Paul began in 2025 when he founded Nutrinest Foods Ltd. his goal was to add value to local crops and produce porridge flour rich in nutrients, today, the company offers two products: Nutrinest composite flour, a blend of maize, sorghum, millet, soybeans, and wheat, while nutrimilk composite flour has added locally sourced milk from Rwanda. “
I wanted to create nutritious, affordable food using crops we grow here in Rwanda to help reduce malnutrition,” he explains. “Most cereals we consume lack complete nutrients, which is why blending them made sense.” Nutrinest focuses on producing two types of products:

Nutrinest Composite Wheat – a mixture of maize, sorghum, millet, wheat, and soybeans.
Nutrimilk Composite Flour – composed of milk sourced locally for added protein and crucial nutrients.
According to Jean Paul, “This combination offers better nutritional balance compared to single-cereal flours that families have at home.” But the road has not been smooth. “We struggled to acquire enough machines and promote a new product, competing with established brands,” he admits.

Although Jean Paul faces some challenges, including limited resources and competition, he is committed to promoting food security and creating job opportunities for youth while empowering farmers through value addition. the company partners farmers’ groups with schools and community cooperatives in districts like rural Rwamagana and Kayonza, all while serving urban markets in Kigali, Musanze, and Huye.
Looking to the future, Jean Paul is planning his first expansion outside the country of origin. “We are focused right now on the local market but aspire to access Uganda, DRC, and Burundi by 2026,” he says.
He also has words of wisdom for the youth on how they can start agribusiness: “Start small if you must, but start. There is so much potential in adding value to agriculture and livestock. With determination, you can grow yourself and contribute to your country’s development.”
For Nutrinest foods, the mission is clear and simple: to make healthy and balanced meals available to every home in Rwanda.
